Replacing a hard disk on a All-in-PC in Japan

(null)

Interesting picture to see the internals of an All in one PC. In recent years we are seeing more repairs for this type of desktop.

In this case the Windows starts loading but then the start up repair screen comes up every time and it does not matter how long you leave it, it never ends. We checked the hard disk and found out it was broken.

To fix this issue we replaced the hard disk. This time the customer requested that we install an SSD instead of a standard hard disk, and the customer is now enjoying super fast booting time and operation.

As the old disk was not yet completely broken we could clone Windows and transfer all personal data to the new disk. After that we fixed corrupted Windows files and the PC is booting normally with the same settings and data as before it broke.

I am not sure what is the cause but we are seeing many All in ones with broken hard disks (including many iMacs that use Seagate HDDs). We normally install new Hitachi or Toshiba hard disks that have consistently proved to be the most reliable by independent reports.

NTLDR is missing Error

Problem description: NTLDR is missing error after pressing power button, can not boot.

Cause: Hard drive is full

Solution: We can usually fix the “ntldr is missing” error in about 20 minutes and you can get the PC back with all your data. If you hard drive is full we can also exchange the disk so that you do not have the same problem again. Sometimes it is possible to free up some space on the disk deleting unnecessary files and we can advise you on this issue. Be very careul if you try this yourself as you may delete important files and break your PC. Also be wary of may software that promise to clean your PC as many of them are spyware and they only make your PC worse.

What is is in the inside of a hard disk drive?

Hard disks are an essential part of our computers and all our precious data is stored in them. You may be curious to know how is the inside of a hard disk, so we have?disassembled?one for every one to see.

First it is very important to note that hard disks must have the right pressure to work properly. To achieve that, all hard disks have a small hole for pressure equalizing, of course the hole is protected with a filter so that impurities will not enter.

If we open the cover we will see several plates where the information is stored and the heads that moves over the plates to read and write the information. The speeds and acceleration of the plates can go up to 550G. ?That’s faster acceleration than any missile.

When a mechanical failure occurs the plates can be taken from the hard disk for data recovery. In this case a special clean room is needed, because if dust touches the plates it may not be possible to recover the data. In this case we were going to destroy the hard disk for our customer so dust did not matter.
