I can not understand that such a bad technology as the fax is still “alive” when there are much more efficient systems to transfer information than sending a fax. However it is not the fault of the technology but of people that insist on bad habits.
Sending a fax normally means, writing the message on the computer, printing it, going to the fax machine to send it and usually it goes through the same process at the destination. Receiving it at the fax machine and writing some kind of report on the computer. You have spent a lot of paper, ink, electricity on the fax machines, the fax line. When all could have been solved sending the original document by email.
Nowadays emails are also valid at court, so there is no reason to keep the fax anymore. Also if your email can not be delivered you will get an error report from the email provider.
If you think that fax is more reliable think twice, the receiver fax machine will send the OK after receiving the incoming fax even before printing the page. The page may get stuck, the printer may be out of ink or out of paper. You will think that the fax was received when it was not.
I should not be complaining, fortunately we have not received a fax in two years and we have decided to cancel our fax line as another measure to keep our company competitive and pass the savings to our customers.
